André Manuel Dias, Coordinator of Services at SerQ – Center for Innovation and Forest Competences and Professor at the University of Coimbra, wrote an opinion piece for Observador, where he highlights the adoption of wood as a sustainable solution for construction.

André emphasizes that wood, besides being renewable, has a very low carbon footprint compared to other building materials, especially if sustainable forest management is ensured, including replanting. In the article, André also debunks myths about the durability of wood and highlights its aesthetic and practical advantages.

“Investing in the knowledge, technology, and sustainability of wood usage is not just an investment in a building material, but in a greener and more resilient future for all,” states André.
